Cut your risk of Colon Cancer by 66 %
There are a handful of easily accessible, natural foods and supplements out there than can reduce your risk of developing colon cancer by 66 percent. Here’s what you need to know.
Two separate cancer studies that spanned a collective 22 years have found that consuming fish oil is one of the healthiest things you can do to cut your risk of colon cancer. (Fish is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids.) Men who ate fish 5-times a week were able to cut their cancer risk by 40 percent, compared to men who only ate fish once a week. Note, when choosing fish, pick wild fish over farm raised fish. Fresh or frozen does not matter.
Omega-3 fatty acids are also readily found in chia seeds, hemp, flax and green leafy vegetables. Add these to your daily diet to help lower your risk of colorectal cancer.
The second study found that consuming a 5mg folic acid supplement every day for three years reduced the recurrence of colorectal polyps by 66 percent.
