A Better Alternative to Back Surgery
It’s estimated that 20 – 40 percent of all back surgeries result in either no improvement or even worse pain. Most of us know someone suffering with a failed back surgery. These people endure back pain and seek surgery as a means to alleviate the pain only to be disappointed post-surgery when the pain is still present, or comes back worse than before. Failed back surgeries are running rampant through our nation. In fact, it’s so common that this phenomenon now has its own name, Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS).
The side affects of FBSS aren’t just limited to a return of back pain, many FBSS sufferers experience psychological stress, anger, depression and some even become addicted to pain medications.
There are many reasons why back surgery fails to provide the desired result. The surgeon may not have enough experience. The back pain may have been improperly diagnosed. The root of the problem may be located in another part of the body and simply referring pain to the back. The surgeon may have damaged the nerves in the spine during the surgery, thus creating additional back pain, etc.
With such a high failure rate, it’s clear that surgery is not the answer to eliminating back pain. The good news is that chiropractic adjustments have been proven to eliminate or at the very least, dramatically reduce the symptoms of back pain.
Chiropractic is completely natural, non-invasive and much more cost effective than back surgery. When the vertebrae in the spine are properly aligned they open a door for the brain to effectively communication to every cell, nerve, muscle, gland and organ in the body. When every part of the body can function as it was originally designed, health and healing and pain relief follow.
